About Me

I grew up in Houston as the daughter of a German mom and Indian (South Asian) dad. I am a 50-something year old mother of three. I went to Texas A&M University for undergrad and then to The University of Denver to obtain a Masters in Counseling Psychology in 1998, and now live in Austin. My favorite life experience was studying abroad in Italy and eating gelato every day. When I’m not in session, I love hiking, spin class, and traveling to Mexico.

What are my Specialties?

I mostly do talk therapy, and also do EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Sand Tray therapy for treatment of pain, trauma, anxiety, grief and loss. I work with all types of folks, especially moms, teens, and young adults. I like to work with other Asian Americans and “third culture kids,” who grow up in places that are not their parents’ homeland.

I have worked with college students dealing with acculturation and careers, women who just gave birth, people navigating bumpy relationships ,, and people who have faced complex trauma and violence, among others.

I also run a FREE online peer support group on Mondays at 12 called Mamas for Mamas. We are a place to feel accepted and heard around topics such as Baby Blues, Postpartum Depression and Anxiety. Send me a message on my Contact Me page if you’re interested in participating.
